In order for this story to have maximum effect, I must first explain to you the enviroment in which the event occured...It happened during lab, which is quite private because there are usually only seven people in the room.

So, the other day, we were in there working with some spectroscopy equipment. The professor, Dr. Raz, showed us how to start the equipment and we and got busy working. About half-way through the lab, one of the girls turns to our lab instructor and says,"What I really want to know about, is what happened right here." (points to a large dent on the computer screen) Dr. Raz chuckles and responds,"Well, there was an explosion..." All of us look around trying to find out where the explosion could have possibly come from. The only lab table around is about 20 feet directly behind us. Skeptically, we ask Dr. Raz where the explosion happened. He waves his hand towards the table as he ends the discussion and we continue to work on our lab project. While we are waiting on some samples, someone else asks,"Was it a beaker that exploded?" He responds,"Well I can't tell you what was in it, but YES, it was a beaker". Then he starts shuffling things around in a cabinet looking for something. He pulls out a hot plate and shows it to us," This also happened,"  The ceramic plate on the instrument is almost completely gone. We keep bugging him trying to tell us what he was mixing in the beaker, but he won't tell us. He eventually showed us the rest of the damage caused by the explosion. Behind the computer there was a glass cabinet with a dent in the glass were one of the projectiles hit it. At the direct site of the explosion on the lab table, there were scratches and dents all in the wall and on parts of the closest adjacent wall.

I really want to know what happened...  o_O

I feel really spacey and unproductive. I miss my kitty. I hate gen. ed requirements.

Since everyone else is writing something deep, I figure I might as well jump on the bandwagon.

Quantitative Biology sucks.

Every day I walk into that class and wish I was doing something more productive with my time. I guess the good part about it is the statistics credit were getting in there is applied. It is easier to understand the math stuff taught in the course because we apply it in the labs. But...  when we take a test, out of the 20 questions there are only two math problems and the rest...  opinion. I'm not sure I can handle this biology crap at the moment. The program here (the material) is an awesome idea, but the way the curriculum is taught is frustrating at the least. I need to go get some help from the instructors... but I don't know what i'm doing wrong, and I'm studying really hard for my current C. blarg. smack. Did I mention the class sucks?

In other news, I just finished watching the chronicles of Narnia-it made me feel much better. ^.^
